Here’s How You Can Volunteer With Us

April isn't just about showers and flowers; it's also National Volunteer Month! It's a time to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of those who selflessly give their time, energy and skills to make a difference in their communities. While some individuals may be unable to donate blood due to various reasons, their desire to contribute to their community remains strong. For those who find themselves unable to donate blood, volunteering becomes a powerful avenue through which they can still make a meaningful impact. 

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s mission of saving lives by providing a safe blood supply resonates deeply with communities across the region. But achieving this mission wouldn't be possible without the dedication and commitment of volunteers. 

Here are some key opportunities for individuals to volunteer and contribute to Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s mission:  

• Blood Drives: Volunteers can actively participate in organizing and conducting blood drives. This involves setting up donation sites, assisting donors throughout the process and ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved. 
• Community Events: Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center often hosts or participates in community events aimed at promoting blood donation and health awareness. Volunteers can lend their support by representing the organization at these events, distributing informational materials and engaging with the public to emphasize the significance of blood donation.  
• Speakers Bureau: Volunteers with strong communication skills and a passion for advocacy can be a part of the Speakers Bureau. As members, they have the opportunity to speak at public gatherings to educate audiences about the importance of blood donation and the impact it has on individuals and communities. 
• Office Support: Behind-the-scenes support is crucial for the efficient operation at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Volunteers can contribute their time and skills by providing administrative assistance, data entry and other office-related tasks. 
• Volunteer Drivers: For individuals with access to transportation, volunteering as a driver can be a valuable way to support the organization’s logistics. Volunteer drivers may assist with transporting blood supplies between facilities.
