Gulf Coast Blood Academy to Graduate Nine Phlebotomists, Strengthening Local Blood Supply
HOUSTON, Texas – Gulf Coast Blood Academy’s second cohort has completed training to begin careers as phlebotomists with Gulf Coast Blood. This marks another step in the organization’s effort to develop regional healthcare talent and create pathways to meaningful employment.

The Academy was launched in partnership with C2C Workforce USA and Stay Recruited to address workforce needs in healthcare by preparing aspiring phlebotomists for careers that directly support patient care. Following the success of its inaugural class, the Academy continues to provide participants with the training, experience and support needed to enter the healthcare workforce.
Graduates are now prepared to begin careers with Gulf Coast Blood, helping ensure a safe and reliable blood supply for our community's hospital patients. Their preparation included seven weeks of comprehensive training combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience.
To recognize this milestone, graduates will participate in a Signing Day Graduation Ceremony, officially committing to begin their careers with Gulf Coast Blood.
Since its launch, the Gulf Coast Blood Academy has reinforced the organization's commitment to workforce development while helping address the growing need for trained healthcare professionals. Through partnerships with community organizations and workforce development leaders, the Academy continues to expand access to rewarding careers that support lifesaving work.
