Ronda Perguson

Director of Product Management

Ronda Perguson is the Director of Product Management at Gulf Coast Blood, where she oversees multiple departments, including Component Manufacturing and Hospital Services. In this role, Ronda manages the production of blood components, including red blood cells, whole blood, plasma, and cryoprecipitated AHF, ensuring products are properly manufactured, labeled, and distributed for hospital use. Ronda directs logistics, inventory management, and hospital order fulfillment, working closely with collections and recruitment teams to maintain a steady and safe blood supply for the Greater Houston community. Ronda also ensures regulatory compliance and effective communication with hospitals regarding inventory needs and product availability.

With a long career at Gulf Coast Blood, Ronda has held various roles and considers the organization her professional home. She began her career in donor testing services before moving to transfusion services and the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory. After earning a master’s degree in computer information systems, Ronda joined the Management Information Systems (MIS) department before returning to her roots in blood banking. Her vast experience and expertise led to her current leadership position.

Ronda has earned numerous certifications throughout her career, showcasing her expertise and dedication to quality and excellence. Ronda holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Texas Health Science Center, and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from University of Houston-Clear Lake. Among her credentials are the Specialist in Blood Banking certification, SBB (ASCP), and the Certified Quality Auditor certification (CQA ASQ).

Outside of work, Ronda is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, bird watching, reading, cooking, and staying active. She has completed six marathons and visited numerous U.S. national parks and with plans to explore even more national parks in the coming years.
