Maria Reutz

Director of Laboratory Services

Maria Reutz is the Director of Laboratory Services at Gulf Coast Blood, where she leads the Quality Control and Consultation and Reference Laboratories with expertise and precision. A Texas native, Maria earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Texas and holds board certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Maria began her career in California, working for several years at Roche, a leading global healthcare company specializing in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. She gained valuable experience in healthcare and diagnostic technologies before returning to Texas to join Gulf Coast Blood. She started her journey in the donor testing laboratory. Over the years, Maria has excelled in various leadership roles, overseeing quality assurance for blood component testing, regulatory compliance, and the Immunohematology Reference Lab, including compatibility testing and related services.

Maria is an avid adventurer who enjoys backpacking and birding. She’s always on the lookout to spot and add a new bird to her ever-growing life list.
