
Julie Barbary
Director of Business Operations
Julie Barbary is the Director of Business Operations at Gulf Coast Blood. Since joining in 2016, she has brought decades of financial expertise and leadership to the organization. She oversees the financial operations, managing critical functions such as cash flow, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls to maintain fiscal integrity and efficiency. In addition to preparing and supervising financial audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting, Julie also oversees purchasing and warehouse operations, ensuring the organization has the necessary supplies to support its life-saving mission.
Before joining Gulf Coast Blood, Julie worked as a Controller at Blood Source (now Vitalant), where she played a key role in financial planning and operational management. Prior to that, she gained extensive experience as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche. She also spent some time as a Controller in various industries, including fresh produce distribution, integrated midstream services, and the restaurant industry.
Julie holds a U.S. degree equivalent to a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Quebec in Canada. She earned her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) certification in Canada in 1998 and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the U.S. in 2001. Julie is fluent in English and French.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling to new destinations.
