Sean Murphy

Sean Murphy serves as Executive Vice President and CEO of the Harris County Medical Society, a role he assumed in September 2021. With over 17 years of diverse professional experience spanning the legal and healthcare sectors, Sean brings a broad perspective to leadership.

He earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, with a Certificate in Health Law from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2008. He began his legal career as a business litigator at the nationally ranked law firm Thompson Coburn LLP in St. Louis, where he practiced for seven years. Sean later served as in-house counsel for the American Association of Orthodontists before becoming the Executive Director, Registered Lobbyist, and General Counsel for the Arizona Dental Association.

In 2023, Sean joined the Board of Trustees for Gulf Coast Blood.
