Greg Bernica

Greg Bernica was the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Harris County Medical Society for thirty years, serving in that role until his retirement in December 2021. In recognition of his impactful career, he was honored in 2018 with the American Medical Association’s Medical Executive Lifetime Achievement Award—which honors a medical association executive who has made significant contributions to the goals and ideals of the medical profession. In retirement he continues to serve on a few Boards and performs some consulting work for the Medical Society.

Greg served on the Board of Trustees of Gulf Coast Blood from 1993 to 2023, playing a vital role in shaping the Board’s structure and recruiting new members throughout his tenure. He rejoined the Board of Trustees in 2024.
